Rooted in military survival training, our objective is to help children develop and flourish in nature by providing inspirational content.
Surviving the kids is an idea born out of parental love. I’m Dale, a UK military survival instructor with over 17 years of military experience in the RAF. More importantly, I’m a proud father to two beautiful kids, Sonny and Indy.
The Power of Nature
As we inevitably move into the age of technological advancement, our kids face a future of pixelated screens and ultra-high definition resolutions. As their lives, and our own, become more reliant on technology it is easy to completely disconnect with the amazing natural world all around us.
As we all suffered the isolation and confinement of life inside our homes during the Covid-19 lockdown, I witnessed my children become increasingly frustrated and anxious. Then me and my wife Lucy would take them outside to either the nearby coastline or woodland for our permitted entitlement of daily exercise.
We noticed immediately their moods lift and a playful spirit burst into life.
I will admit, it was not always an easy sell to remove their eyeballs away from the TV or particular game they happened to be playing to venture outdoors. But despite any initial objections, the power of nature would never fail to deliver happy, playful, and content children.
Surviving the Kids exists to inspire parents, through engaging content, to help children discover positive experiences and memories within nature.
